viet kieu - foreign residing vietnamese

our brand is built around said experience, one that stems from san jose, ca to portland, or. our roots come from the east side of san jose, where one of the largest vietnamese populations outside of vietnam resides. a plethora of some of the best vietnamese food you can find in the states can be found here, with regional foods all across the city.

my families come from phan rang, a sleepy beach town in southeast vietnam, and hue, home to the imperial palace in central vietnam, so our food is reflective of those origins. most of our dishes will stem from a family member or influence from, and we do our best to utilize whatever ingredients we can find here in the pacific northwest to showcase how versatile vietnamese food can be. we want it to be exactly that, a viet kieu experience.

as part of my experience of living in america, you’ll find elements of hip-hop, breaking, and street culture permeated through the brand. we are an eclectic group and aim to provide a vibe that you won’t find anywhere else.

you can currently find us at lil dame as a residency, where we run a farm-to-table food program built around our experiences of living here in portland. we operate monday to wednesday, 5-9pm.
